Join us for a fun evening of wine tastings, hors d'oeuvres, and mysterious tales of selkies and rumrunners. We are getting so excited for our Sip & Sign event coming up this Wednesday with our friends at Oliver & Friends Bookshop and BookMarks-Maine. We will combine the world of literature with the world of wine, exploring how a wine's flavor and story can perfectly mirror the atmosphere and themes of a great novel.
We'll be pairing K. Stephens' latest novel's themes of darkness, temptation, and the sea with three incredible wines from Poggio Anima, an Italian winery known for naming its bottles after Angels and Demons, The Wines: Uriel (The Angel): A crisp white wine that mirrors the sea and the Selkie mother's pure purpose. Samael (The Bridge): A balanced red reflecting the rumrunner's apprentice torn between conscience and the dark world of Prohibition. Asmodeus (The Demon): A bold red that captures the temptation and danger of 1927 Maine rumrunning. Come enjoy the tastings, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and a fascinating conversation with K. Stephens about blending Irish folklore with Maine's gritty history!
