It's been a wonderful book tour this fall and this will be my last event for 2025. Gonna take a break until Spring, so if you're in Portland, please stop by! I'm also going to have this custom room box with me. I made it to portray the root cellar in my novel that has a false wall to hold illicit contraband. Come check it out!

I will be at the annual Holiday Market, which will offer a wide variety of merchandise from the useful to the unusual including vintage household goods, seasonal decorations, hand crafts, farm products and delectable sweet and savory baked goods. I'll be there chatting away and signing books too!
So. Many. Events to share this week! K. Stephens (The Ghost Trap & By the Dark o’ the Moon) is headed to Orono next Thursday for a Sip & Sign at The Store Ampersand Join us for a wine tasting, snacks, laughs and to hear more about K's book. Bring your friends or make new ones! While you don't have to read the book ahead, if you WANT to copies are available at The Store now! #readmorebooks #SipandSign #oronomaine #maineauthor . It’s the perfect combo of a wine tasting, hors d’oevres, a bit of a literary chat (no reading to the audience) and a fun way to meet people. Here are some pics of our last event in Waterville.
Join us for a fun evening of wine tastings, hors d'oeuvres, and mysterious tales of selkies and rumrunners. We are getting so excited for our Sip & Sign event coming up this Wednesday with our friends at Oliver & Friends Bookshop and BookMarks-Maine. We will combine the world of literature with the world of wine, exploring how a wine's flavor and story can perfectly mirror the atmosphere and themes of a great novel.
We'll be pairing K. Stephens' latest novel's themes of darkness, temptation, and the sea with three incredible wines from Poggio Anima, an Italian winery known for naming its bottles after Angels and Demons, The Wines: Uriel (The Angel): A crisp white wine that mirrors the sea and the Selkie mother's pure purpose. Samael (The Bridge): A balanced red reflecting the rumrunner's apprentice torn between conscience and the dark world of Prohibition. Asmodeus (The Demon): A bold red that captures the temptation and danger of 1927 Maine rumrunning. Come enjoy the tastings, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and a fascinating conversation with K. Stephens about blending Irish folklore with Maine's gritty history! If you’re in Orono on Oct. 23, join me and my fellow author Jen Comeau for Irish Book Week, where we’ll do a deep dive into the mythology of selkies and The Otherworld of Ireland. Free to the public! The Orono Performing Arts Center is right behind the Orono High School. Join me for my kickoff event with a collaboration from The tiny Bookshop at Freya's in Rockport for some wine tastings and literary chat! I will discuss my latest book, which delves into the Midcoast's history, including hidden speakeasies, Maine lobstermen, and rumrunners, as well as the origins of Irish selkie colonies in the Atlantic waters. Join me and The Tiny Bookshop for a fun night of sipping drinks and lively conversations. Books will be available for signings and personal inscriptions.
Then on Saturday, September 20, an hour up the road, (so to speak), I'll be hanging out with other Maine authors in the park at a table in Clinton, Maine at the Old Mill Park. It will be a great day for a fall drive and food trucks will be available. If you can’t make it to either of these, my book will be for sale at the Common Ground Fair at the Maine Authors Publishing Table all weekend. If you buy a copy stay tuned for future local events and I’ll sign it for you! Come join me and fellow authors for a wild fall of events throughout Maine, including Sip & Signs, where you come for a drink and a chat or a fun presentation about speakeasies. I don't believe in boring old readings, so this is a lively way for book lovers to get together. I'll also be with other Maine Authors Publishing authors at various fairs throughout the fall too. Looking forward to seeing you!
